Owner of the celebrated Continental Hotel in Saigon and an amateur filmmaker, Philippe Franchini filmed Vietnam between 1965 and 1972 .
The pictures in this collection provide new insight into aspects of daily life in Saigon under the American military presence, in particular images of bars and red-light districts showing American soldiers in search of a good time .
